Registered businesses who haven’t yet completed Beneficial Owner verification will also be required to do so before getting started with Tap to Pay. Learn more about Beneficial Owner verification.
2. Next, we’ll ask for some personal info like your date of birth and SSN or ITIN (if you haven’t already provided this info in association with your business). We’re required to do an identity check before providing access to this feature, but your Tap to Pay sign-up does not include a credit check.
We may ask for some supporting documents to help verify your info. If this happens, please allow a few days for our team to review your info. We’ll let you know once we’ve completed our review.
3. To complete verification of your identity, you will also be asked to scan your photo ID and face before continuing.
If you’d like to finish verifying your identity another way (without providing a face scan), you can tap visit the FAQ pageto access a popup page with a link to our document upload form. From there, you’ll be prompted to submit a passport or permanent residence card, then another eligible form of ID.
4. Once your info is verified, make sure that we have the correct address on file for your Tap to Pay receipts. By default, we’ll use the same public contact information you provided when creating your business profile. If needed, you can update this address later under your business profile settings. Tap Confirm or Skipto proceed.
And that’s a wrap! You should be all set to start accepting contactless payments with Tap to Pay. Just tap the Chargebutton again to start your first charge.
When you're ready to accept a payment for an invoice, go to Invoices and select an invoice. Tap Add payment to choose the amount to charge, then tap Next. Select Tap to Pay and have your customer hold their card or NFC device to the back of your Android device.
On your device, open the Settings app.In the search bar, type “ NFC .”Turn on Use NFC. If you can't find NFC, you can't make contactless payments with your phone.
Navigate to and open Settings. Tap Connections, and then tap NFC and contactless payment. Tap the switch to turn on the NFC feature on your phone, and then tap Contactless payments. Choose Samsung Pay, and then tap the Back arrow.
In the TAP app, sign in or create a TAP account.In the Cards section, press (“add card” icon) in the top left.Press “Add a TAP Card on Your Phone.” Once your “virtual” card is added, it will be displayed in the Cards section of the app.
Google Wallet allows consumers to hold a wallet balance, send and receive money from friends in the United States, and use a plastic card in stores and online. Google Pay allows users to tap and pay in stores and use/redeem loyalty cards, gift cards, and offers in store.
Finally, you should also be careful with phones equipped with an NFC antenna. Keep the function disabled until you need to use it, as it may unintentionally read a tag that may download malware onto your mobile device.
Samsung Pay might have a data security edge over Google Wallet. Both services have data encryption and built-in authentication. Samsung Pay benefits from an extra layer of protection with Samsung Knox.
