Unlocking[]
Ghost is unlocked for purchase by evolving the Lifesign Scan. They need to be purchased for 500, which scales with other characters purchased.
Alternatively, Ghost can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "foundyellowinmedical".
Passive bonuses[]
Ghost starts with +156 Max Health, +100% Luck, and -100% Might. Ghost cannot be damaged or deal damage directly, but their run ends as soon as the Time Limit is reached.
Although the Might modifier can be raised on the character select screen through Powerups or Golden Eggs, it will return to -100% in-game and cannot be increased by any means, including Spinach, Torrona's Box, etc.
Tips[]
- Because Ghost has -100% Might, most weapons are completely useless on them, and will deal no damage to enemies. In order to defeat foes, Ghost must rely on sources of damage that are not based on Might.
- Taking the Sarabande of Healing (VI), Divine Bloodline (IX), or Blood Astronomia (XXI) Arcana will allow Ghost to deal damage and level up right off the bat:
- Sarabande of Healing doubles healing and pulses flat damage in a relatively large area equal to healing. Since this is only 1 damage per second with Recovery Powerups, and can only be increased to 3 with Pummarola, this Arcana is reliant on Lifesign Scan for damage, which has likewise low dps until extensively upgraded.
- The immediate cast of Lifesign Scan after an upgrade can be chained alongside Pentagram upgrades to help climb up Ghost's otherwise very slow early levels. Ghost's high Luck can help prevent Pentagram from erasing experience gems and stop it from erasing them completely after reaching weapon level 5, assuming maximum Luck Powerups.
- Sarabande of Healing works with Bloody Tear and Fuwalafuwaloo, which heal on critical hits, but it will not work with weapons that steal hearts on kill such as Soul Eater, Celestial Dusting, Silver Wind/Festive Winds and Night Sword/Muramasa, since Ghost will never be able to kill enemies with those weapons.
- Disco of Gold (XV) can massively boost Ghost's damage through Sarabande of Healing, albeit only during Gold Fever.
- It is highly recommended to turn on Random Events, as the Pet, Candybox, Rosary, Light Sources and Chicken Bonanza events are all massively helpful for getting through early levels, and none of the events are particularly harmful, with only the Summon II Molise event wasting your time.
- Blood Astronomia gives Ghost's magnet itself (5 x Amount) flat damage on a 2 second cooldown. Since it is contact-based instead of pulsed, Ghost can use it to mow through weak enemies, allowing for a much faster start than Sarabande. However, besides Duplicator and Clock Lancet, this damage cannot be improved.
- Blood Astronomia makes taking Mini Ghost earlier a better proposition. Although not in the list of affected weapons, Mini Ghost will generate damaging zones identical to those created by Clock Lancet. Unfortunately, while it improves how often Clock Lancet zones are created, Clock Lancet and mini Ghost's zones share a cooldown, and will not damage enemies standing in both twice.
- It is not recommended to use Garlic, Song of Mana, or Laurel on Ghost, as Blood Astronomia takes player stats into account for these weapons, causing them to deal zero damage.
- Divine Bloodline causes enemies to take (10 x Armor) flat damage every time they attempt to hit Ghost, and gives flat damage to its listed weapons equal to (5 x Armor). It also gives Ghost 0.5 Max Health every time they defeat an enemy with retaliatory damage (which does not increase current health), and grants all weapons (Missing Health/10) flat damage.
- Turning Recovery Powerups off and avoiding Duplicator will reduce the amount of healing Ghost receives, letting them maintain more of the damage bonus. (Although Duplicator might be optimal in the long run depending on chosen weapons)
- Game Killer (0) is the only other Arcana that can directly do damage despite Ghost's limitations. However, it is useless at level 1 if the maps do not offer experience gems or rosaries to start the chain, and it is not recommended as your only method of defeating enemies.
- Instant-kill weapons such as Pentagram/Gorgeous Moon, Ophion, Emergency Meeting, and Just Vent offer other ways for Ghost to defeat enemies.
- Note that Vicious Hunger and Unjust Ejection are not instant-kill weapons, and some enemies that are vulnerable to other instant-kills will not be killed or damaged by Just Vent.
- Infinite Corridor in conjunction with any of the aforementioned damaging Arcana allow Ghost to eventually defeat enemies immune to instant kills, including bosses and Atlanteans, which may otherwise endure Ghost's damage until the time limit runs out.
- Due to Ghost's extremely limited options outside of Divine Bloodline, it's worth noting that Celestial Voulge, Festive Winds, and Luminaire can offer utility by changing Orologions into Starry Heavens, lowering defense on hit, and increasing the value of experience gems and gold, respectively. Of these, only Luminaire is situationally recommended, and only in a six-weapon run, as these weapons offer no damage, all require evolving an otherwise useless weapon, and are not very effective compared to instant-kill weapons or Infinite Corridor.

Trivia[]
- Ghost's starting Max Health before Powerups is 256, which is likely a reference to the highest number that can be stored in a byte: 255 with zero included. Because of this, 256 is sometimes used as a placeholder for numbers above the maximum value, and when used for health, can be a placeholder for invincibility.
