Problem
You have enabled two-factor authentication using Google Authentication but it fails.
Cause
You may face this problem if,
- Time correction for codes is out of sync.
- Incorrect date and time in the mobile device.
Resolution
Method 1-Syncing time correction for codes:
- Open Google Authenticator app on your mobile.
- At the top-right corner, click on the action (three-dot) icon.
- Click on Settings from the drop-down.
- Choose Time Correction for Codes.
- Select Sync Now.
- Check whether the Two Factor Authentication is working or not.
- Open Settings on your mobile.
- Choose System and select Date & Time.
- Ensure that the toggles of Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone are enabled
- Restart your device.
Method 2-Enabling automatic date, time and time zone:
Note: For iOS users, go to Settings-> General-> Date & Time and set it to Automatic. Even if the Date & Time is set to Automatic, double toggle it. Then, go to Settings->Privacy->Location Services and set it to Always use for Google Authenticator app.
