Below is the expected grade level based on student age as of October 1st of a given school year. For students on an IEP, grade/age calculation is based on the age as of December 1st for a given school year. Both the October 1st and December 1st age cut-off correlate with the Student October Count collection and the Special Education IEP Interchange collectionrespectively.
Elementary school is kindergarten through 5th grade (ages 5-10), middle school is grades 6-8 (ages 11-13), and high school is grades 9-12 (ages 14-18).
