Grounded: All Endings+ Secret ORC Lab & Director Schmector Boss Fight (2024)

If you play the storyline of the survival game Grounded, you can reach the good or the bad ending at its finale. In this guide, we will introduce you to both endings and explain how you will reach them.

SPOILER WARNING! Even though the title and introduction already indicate this, we would like to explicitly prepare you once again that the following content contains spoilers for the story of Grounded.

The Bad Ending

Once you have filled the Embiggening Cell with the Embiggening co*cktail, you must take it to SPAC.R and talk to Dr. Wendell Tully. In the conversation with Dr. Wendell Tully, you select the option that you are ready to go home, after which you grow to your normal size again.

After that, the time jumps a few months forward, and Dr. Wendell Tully explains everything that happened after your “little” adventure:

• Pete, Max, Willow, and Hoops reappeared and tried to tell their story, but no one believed them because they had no evidence to back up what happened. Instead, the focus was on the invention of the shrinking machine and the person behind it, Director Dalton Schmector.
• Dr. Wendell Tully was also discovered, which is why he had to go into hiding, while Director Schmector took credit for the fame and inventions that Dr. Wendell Tully had gained.
• BURG.L kept an eye on the kids, on behalf of Dr. Wendell Tully, by joining their science and robotics club.
• In the end, Dr. Wendell Tully wonders if he could have done more in the time he spent in the garden. Still, he's back with his family as a head without a body, trying to make the most of their time together.

The Happy/Secret Ending

To reach the happy ending, you'll have to find the secret ORC Lab of Ominent, where you'll fight Director Dalton Schmector, who will appear as a robot.

To get to the lab, Dr. Wendell Tully must follow you. If he is following you, go with Dr. Wendell Tully to the Moldorc Highlands to the Castle Moldorc Playset, which you activate by pushing its button.

You can reach the button via the stone staircase next to the giant green face on the right.

Once you have activated the button, you go downstairs again and over the tongue of the green face to get into its mouth. You will find a crack in the floor through which you have to drop. Go left in the direction of a dark tunnel after you drop, but be careful: after a few steps, you'll be standing in front of an abyss.

Jump down the abyss, using a parachute to avoid falling damage, and land relaxed on or in front of the secret lab.

Fight Director Schmector in the Secret Boss Fight

You will meet Dr. Wendell Tully in front of the secret ORC lab, where you approach him. He will call BURG.L, who will hack into the system and open the door to the lab. A red fire ant will attack you after the door opens.

In the lab, you can loot some stuff before going through the door at the end. Follow the corridor to the end, where you will find yourself in the next room:

Interact with the console in the middle to start the boss fight with Director Schmector. During the fight, besides the director, spiders will also attack you, which you have to defeat, too.

The End

Once you have defeated the director, you can collect the Ominent Data Disk from him and give it to SPAC.R, where you can grow up again with the help of the Embiggening Cell, which is filled with the Embiggening co*cktail, and go home.

Dr. Wendell Tully then tells you what happened in the months that followed after you were back:

• Reporters, investigators, and the FBI got involved in the case. The FBI tried to keep everything secret, however, the truth came out anyway, and so all was made public:
  • About the kidnappings.
  • About the dead teenagers.
  • About Ominent.
• The police arrested director Schmector.
• After everything calmed down, people learned the truth about the shrinking technology and Dr. Wendell Tully.
• Pete, Max, Willow, and Hoops tried to settle back in as normal teenagers and formed the Science and Robotics Club, which BURG.L joined.
• Dr. Wendell Tully is back in his old body and can fully enjoy time with his family. However, he has not designed a new great invention.
