A species that is the product of a particularly deranged species of experiments. These two-headed creatures have limbs and tails that ignite when provoked. Savage and ravenous, they leave nothing behind after catching their preyーnot even bones.

Hellhound is an enemy in Final Fantasy VII Remake, fought in the Corneo Colosseum during the "Tomboy Bandit" sidequest in Chapter 14, "In Search of Hope", where it is accompanied by the Beastmaster. Hellhound can also be fought in the Shinra Combat Simulator as part of the "vs. Dynamic Duos" challenge in Chapter 16, "The Belly of the Beast".

The hellhound is weak to 
Ice and uses 
Fire attacks, many of them ranged. Its web attack can inflict 
Slow. It is Undead, so healing spells damage it.
Strategy[]
In the colosseum, the beastmaster can be defeated quickly with simple attacks, but against the hellhound, the player is best avoiding its ranged attacks. Using 
Raise on it deals 9999 damage, and can be used fo a quick defeat. Otherwise, the party can use abilities and ice spells to stagger it, then lay into it with abilities from all three characters. Pairing 
Ice Materia with 
Elemental Materia on Cloud's and Tifa's weapons to help them deal more damage. Another use for the materia is in armor with Fire Materia to absorb the hellhound's attacks. 
Manaward can be used to halve damage as well. Wearing Protective Boots protects against slow.
In the combat simulator, the hellhound is faced alongside two bloodhounds. The smaller bloodhounds should be defeated first with physical abilities. With the hellhound left standing, the player can use Raise to damage it, or ice spells to pressure it, and when it staggers, burst it down with spells and abilities.
Hard Mode[]
Beastmaster is simple to defeat, but hellhound is more durable than before. MP should be conserved, though using Raise on it still deals 9999 per casting. Otherwise, pairing ice materia and elemental on Cloud and Tifa is still a good strategy, and Barret should use Lifesaver with Regen cast on him. While Cloud and Tifa use melee attacks, Barret should use Focused Shot from a distance at two ATB bars, while Cloud and Tifa use their own Focused Thrust and Focused Strike, respectively, to stagger the hellhound. Once staggered, Tifa's Unbridled Strength techniques and True Strike can be used to build up its stagger bonus damage, while Barret's Maximum Fury and Cloud's Infinity's End destroy it for good.

[view· edit· purge]A hellhound is a supernatural dog found in folklore. A wide variety of ominous or hellish supernatural dogs occur in mythologies around the world, similar to the ubiquitous dragon. Features that have been attributed to hellhounds include black fur, glowing red or sometimes glowing yellow eyes, super strength or speed, ghostly or phantom characteristics, and foul odor.
In cultures that associate the afterlife with fire, hellhounds may have fire-based abilities and appearance. They are often assigned to guard the entrances to the world of the dead, such as graveyards and burial grounds, or undertake other duties related to the afterlife or the supernatural, such as hunting lost souls or guarding a supernatural treasure. In European legends, seeing a hellhound or hearing it howl may be either an omen of death or even a cause of death.
