Karina, there is so much to see and do aboard Disney Cruise Line for kids and your little Mouseketeers are at the perfect ages to enjoy it all! I'm a Mama of two as well and two of my boys' favorite things about Disney Cruise Line are Disney's Oceaneer Club and the unlimited soft serve ice cream found by the pool!
Now, Karina, while you likely will be having so much fun, you'll be sad to go to sleep, having a comfy stateroom is a must, so let's talk about location. Since it's your family's first cruise, I would recommend booking a mid-ship or aft stateroom (in that order). Forward staterooms tend to feel the most motion of the sea and just in case you have anyone prone to seasickness, a strategic location might help lessen those symptoms. Along these same lines, cabins on the lower levels tend to feel less motion than those on the uppermost decks, so I would recommend booking deck 7 or lower for your first sailing.
Another factor I consider when booking our room location is all of our priorities on the ship. For example, if you want to have quick access to pools and dining, I would book something close to a main elevator. If visiting Disney's Oceaneer Club is a must-do for your kids, I would select a room on the same deck so that you can quickly check in and out!
(On the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, the kids' clubs are located on deck 5. On the Disney Wish, the kids' club is located on deck 2.)
Lastly, Karina, you might find that different locations on the ship are priced differently. I know that when we cruise, we are always keeping an eye on our budget, so often I select a room based on price.
