Automatic expense importing, also known as bank import, is made possible through our third party connectors Plaid, Salt Edge and Yodlee, which support most major bank and credit card accounts worldwide. These transactions are imported into your account through a mix of data sharing methods like Open Banking and data extraction depending on the financial institution.
Investments, Line of Credit and Loan bank accounts are not supported with Bank Connections and Bank Reconciliation.
Ensure that the appropriate country is selected in your Basic Information settings, and use the below chart to determine which bank connection partner supports your country. Then select the relevant link(s) to get started with bank connections.

Once your file is ready, import it in with these steps:

Bank Reconciliation (Bank Rec) allows you to match any bank transactions to any FreshBooks Entries in your account so that your book balance matches your account balances. It also allows you to create transfers, owner's equity, and expense refund transactions by marking your bank transactions as such.
