Dragonflight, the newest expansion to the World of Warcraft game series, has drawn many new and returning players alike. The expansion boasts updates to the user interface, the usual new dungeons and raids -- the raids will come later -- and lands in which to quest and explore. Arguably one of the biggest and best changes in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is the update to the professions and Crafting system.
Prior to Dragonflight, crafters that wanted to sell their items had to either post them on the auction house or advertise in the general chat in well-populated areas. If there was a player that desired a specific crafted item that was "Bind on Pick-up," the player would have to learn the profession themselves and craft the item. These issues have been alleviated with the new Crafting Orders system, and players are loving it.
Crafting Order Vendor Locations in Dragonflight
There are currently two Crafting Order stations in World of Warcraft. The first is in Valdrakken, to the left of the Flight Master and Auction House, marked by a golden gavel symbol on the mini-map. The other location is at Forkriver Crossing in the Ohn'arhan Plains. The work order interface can be accessed by crafters near the crafting bench in these locations. This system is very much like the older Auction House feature from past years in which players had to go to a specific location to bid on items auctioned by other players, but this may feel slightly tedious to those players used to using the mobile Auction House.

Placing a Crafting Work Order
Any player can place an order by traveling to either of the vendor locations previously mentioned. It's as simple as speaking to an NPC and filtering through all the different options for which items can be requested. The player does not have to practice the profession from which they order, which is one of the biggest benefits of this new system. Players can also order items that would have previously been soulbound to the original creator.
Rules and Limits for Profession Crafters
There are some things that players must keep in mind when utilizing the crafting system to create orders for other players. There is a limit of 20 on the public orders one can craft, with five orders per day regenerating, but no limit on personal or guild orders. Only one order can be open at a time, so players must accept the order, craft the item, and then submit it through the system to send to the recipient and receive the commission in exchange. These orders are server-specific, so all the work orders come from players on the crafter's own server.

Rules and Limits for Players Placing Crafting Orders
There are fewer rules for players requesting items than for those that craft the items. When placing a public order for any other player to complete, all the items the crafter would need to create the item need to be provided for the work order to be placed. When placing a guild order or personal order, not all the ingredients need to be provided ahead of time, though it's still considered common courtesy to do so or at least provide the gold for the purchase price of the ingredients.
How Optional Reagents Work
Something new about the crafting system in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is the use of Optional Reagents. These are items not necessary to craft the item, but that provide bonuses or special effects to the crafted items when used. When an Optional Reagent is provided for a recipe, the player can choose which two secondary stats they want to boost past what the item would have generated naturally, the only caveat being that the same stat cannot be boosted twice. This provides players with an additional layer of usefulness beyond what would have been possible prior to Dragonflight. Players must keep in mind that, when requesting a public work order, the optional reagents must be provided by the player requesting rather than the crafter.
