To get started, please follow the wire deposit instructions in your account:

  1. Navigate to your Home screen

  2. Select "Move Money"

  3. Select "More options"

  4. Select "Wire transfer"

  5. Select your desired investment account

  6. Provide the details from this screen to your external bank to initiate your wire transfer

To get started, please contact us and confirm the following information:

  • The last 3 digit of the delivering M1 Invest Account

  • Amount of transfer

  • Receiving account number

  • Receiving account routing number

  • Reason for initiating a wire transfer

Additional instructions:

  • To wire funds to an outside account that isn’t currently connected with your M1 Invest Account, please provide a signed Letter of Acceptance from the receiving firm.

  • Funds must be settled to be transferred.

  • All new deposits to your M1 Invest Account require a six-business day holding period before they can be withdrawn. After six business days, the transfer to your bank begins.

  • For example, if you deposit $10,000 into your account on Monday the 1st, a wire for $7,000 will be held until Tuesday the 9th before the transfer to your bank begins.

  • If your funds are settled and your holding period is complete, a member of our Transfers team will attempt to initiate the wire the same day on a best-efforts basis, provided we received the request with necessary info by 12 pm CST. Please note we can’t guarantee that your wire transfer will be completed the same day. Wires from M1 Invest may take up to five business days to complete.

There is a $25 fee to complete an outgoing wire transfer.

If you are looking to transfer more than $10,000, you may do so via either an ACH transfer or a wire transfer.

  • To locate your customer account number:

    1. Navigate to the Earn tab

    2. Select your M1 High-Yield Savings Account

    3. Select account details

On the wire form, you will be asked to confirm the following information:

  • Wire amount

  • Reason for wire transfer

  • Receiving institution’s wire instructions

  • Upload a photo of your non-expired government-issued photo ID

Once all information is received, our Spend wire team will escalate this for review.

Wire transfers can be processed on the same business day, provided that all customer requirements are met. Also, our cut-off for processing Savings wires the same day is 2PM CT.
