If your location services are enabled on your stolen iPhone but the Find My iPhone feature is turned off, you can still try the following steps to potentially locate your device:
- Use another Apple device: If you have another Apple device linked to the same Apple ID, such as an iPad or Mac, you can try using the Find My app on that device to locate your stolen iPhone. Open the Find My app and check if your iPhone appears on the map. Keep in mind that this method only works if the stolen iPhone is turned on and connected to the internet.
- Check your iCloud account: Sign in to your iCloud account using a web browser on a computer or another device. Go to the Find iPhone page (www.icloud.com/find) and see if your stolen iPhone appears on the map. If it does, you may be able to track its location or perform other actions such as remotely locking or erasing the device.
- Report the theft: Contact your local law enforcement agency and provide them with all relevant information about the stolen iPhone, including its serial number and any other identifying details. They may be able to assist in tracking or recovering the device.
- Contact your mobile service provider: Inform your mobile service provider about the theft and ask if they can help track the device using their network or take any necessary actions such as suspending the service.
Additionally, if you have AppleCare+ for your iPhone, it's recommended to contact Apple support as soon as possible to report the theft. They can provide further guidance and assistance specific to your situation.
Remember to always prioritize your personal safety and avoid confronting potential thieves directly. Let the authorities handle the situation.

Find My is the only means Apple provides you to attempt to locate a missing iPhone. Having location services enabled, but Find My not, will not help.
Further Apple does not get involved in recovering lost or stolen iPhones. You can still contact them if you wish, but you are better off doing the following instead:
- Immediately change your Apple ID password.
- Contact your cellular provider and report this iPhone as stolen. They should be able to "blacklist" your phone's IMEI number to prevent it from getting cellular service ... regardless of the provider.
- Contact your local law enforcement agency and report it stolen.
- Unless you got the additional "theft & loss" coverage with your AppleCare+ plan, the plan by itself, will not provide you with a means to get a replacement phone without its full cost to you.

Tracking a Lost iPhone:
BeingFind Myis of No Option...
A.Backtrack your Locations:
Do it the olde fashioned way and backtrack your locations. For instance, if you were at a retail store, then stop in, asking the store manger if it was placed aside.
B.Lost-&-Found:
Chick with the Lost & Found department of the facility you were in, seeing if it has been handed over.
C.Contact Local Authorities:
See if the community police, or local security guards at the front door, can across it.
D.Use Craigslist:
Put a post onCraigslist, seeing if they have been found.

Follow these instructions:
If your iPhone or iPad is lost or stolen - Apple Support
If Find My was not enabled on the phone....before.....it was lost, there is no way for the iPhone to send information regarding its location.

My icloud is on the iphone but the location is off
That is unfortunate.
If Find My is off, there is no way to locate the phone other than physically look for it yourself with your eyes. Go back to the area where the phone was lost and check with shops and restaurants to see if anyone turned the phone in.

As a practical matter, it's gone. You're not going to be able to find it using Find My if you had the Find My feature on the phone shut off.
And you say that it was stolen – not merely lost. I suppose you could check police departments every now and then in case they happen to recover it, but otherwise, going in person, to places where criminals gather, to search for the criminals who have your phone, is probably not the best idea in terms of personal safety.
You can still report the theft to the police and to your phone carrier. Some phone carriers will put the IMEIs of stolen phones onto a "blacklist" so that the phones will never receive cellular voice, text message, or data service from any carrier who honors the "blacklist." You may not be able to mark the phone as Lost or to request a remote Erase, but if your carrier blacklists the phone, that may make it less useful to the thieves and their customers.

The best advice I can give is to be proactive rather than reactive. If Find My app is off, or if your battery runs out, the re is only one way to get your phone back. You can put a personalized QR Code label on your phone which will direct any finder to a page where they can contact you by email.
How does that help if the phone is already lost?

I lost an iPhone over 5 yrs ago know where. Near Kingston rail station It has the same number as an iPhone I am presently using. Can it be retrieved please 🙏
Sorry, but no. Any chance of finding the phone disappeared about a week after you lost the phone.

Unfortunately, Steps 1 and 2 will not help locate the phone if Find My was not enabled on the device.

Retrace your steps. Check with shops and restaurants that you might have visited.
Otherwise, look for the phone using your eyes.

If Find My was turned off when the phone was stolen, it's too late to turn it on now. You will not be able to mark the phone as Lost or to request an Erase.
You can still report the theft to the police and your phone company (carrier). The carrier may blacklist the phone so that no carrier who honors the blacklist will ever provide cellular service to that phone again.

If you had Find My enabled on the lost iPhone, log into https://www.icloud.com/find/ with the Apple ID and Apple ID password that you use with the lost iPhone.
