On of the most common questions we get on the site is how do I get my seniors card.
Note most places don’t need you to have a seniors card just some card that proves your age is whatever they are looking for.
Neither the Government of Ontario, nor the Government of Canada produces a “Senior’s ID Card.”
In some cases, identification can be shown to prove one’s age in order to receive seniors’ discounts offered by vendors and public transit.
You may use driver’s license, birth certificate or passport to prove age in order to receive discounts offered to seniors.
The type of identification needed may vary depending on each vendor. Here are some other options:
The Old Age Security (OAS) Identification Cardused to be sent to you when you start receiving OAS benefits. As you may know, this pension provides a monthly payment at age 65 for seniors who have lived in Canada for at least 10 years.
For more information on the OAS pension or other financial assistance programs, please contact Service Canada.
I don’t believe they produce the card anymore and can’t find any mention of a seniors id card anywhere on the Services Canada website.

A Canadian Citizenship Certificate is a document that proves that a person is a Canadian citizen. The citizenship certificate is a wallet-sized card. It contains the following information: Your name your date of birth your height and eye colour, your gender. and your signature. Unfortunately it no longer contains a photo (since 2012) so if you’re looking for a photo id this won’t work for you.
Any Canadian citizen is entitled to apply for a citizenship certificate.
The cost of a Canadian citizenship certificate is a one-time fee of $75 (Cdn). This charge covers the cost of processing. For more information about the Canadian Citizenship Certificate, please visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/certif.asp?
