This plan was introduced because of the escalated growth graph of Netflix’s success in India and also keeping in mind the fact that users in India prefer to watch entertainment content on their smartphones instead of TVs or laptops.As per aFICCI-EY 2019 report, Indians spend 30 percent of their phone time—and over 70 percent of their mobile data—on entertainment. This is one of the reasons that this US-based content streaming app launched a mobile-only plan in India.

The Netflix Basic subscription plan costs Rs 199 per month and allows users to stream on a single mobile, tablet, computer, or smart TV device in High definition (HD) 720p quality. Moreover, with the Basic and Mobile plans, you can watch on only one device at a time.
If you happen to operate Netflix on many devices apart from your phone such as a tablet, computer or TV, then the Rs 199 plan is the one for you. The only caveat is that at any given point in time, Netflix will only operate on a single screen. Content is available in HD or 720p resolution only.
