You would either print those tickets or open them on your iPhone in iBooks or any other PDF app and show it at the gate. The wallet app does not recognize simple PDF files. The wallet app requires a pkpass file type for import (which are actually not files, but a compressed collection of files making up the vendors issued content). One of the requirements of a valid pkpass file is a vendor issued digital signature, which a PDF file inherently cannot contain.

You don't transfer PDF files into Apple Wallet. Look at this for more information about Wallet.

What if the tickets I've bought have been sent to my email as pdf and I want to transfer them to Wallet?
