Do you have different amounts left over on different Visa gift cards? Since you're unable to simply consolidate your gift cards into one that you already have, there are ways that you can work around this catch so you can use multiple cards for purchases. This wikiHow article teaches you how to combine Visa gift cards in different ways.
Things You Should Know
- Although there's no way to simply add the remainder of one card to another, there are multiple workarounds for combining Visa gift cards.
- Use multiple cards for a single transaction to use up the last bit of money on those gift cards, or trade your cards for cash using an in-store kiosk.
- Alternatively, add the balances to PayPal or get an e-gift card to combine your Visa gift cards.

Use multiple cards for a single transaction.

Use multiple cards for a single transaction. Many stores, including online shops and brick-and-mortar locations, allow you to use more than one card for each purchase. All you need to do is tell the cashier that you'd like to pay with multiple cards, and they will either ask for the exact amounts of each gift card, or their register can look it up.
- You can always call the number on the back of the card to see how much you have on it.
- Online retailers like Amazon also allow you to pay with multiple gift cards, though the transaction can be declined if the purchase price is more than the gift cards.
- This might be easier to do in-store instead of online for some retailers.

Add the balances to PayPal. If you're not a fan of carrying cash around, you can use PayPal to merge your leftover Visa gift card balances.
- With a PayPal account, go to your PayPal Wallet in the mobile app or on your computer and follow the instructions to link a gift card. Once you've linked the card like a debit card, you can move the money from it to your account. Watch out for any fees for doing this!
- You can also transfer the money to your bank using Square.

Get an e-gift card.

Get an e-gift card or Amazon card. You can generally only do this if you have multiple cards that have been issued by the same bank like they are all Visa instead of a mix-match of Visa and Mastercard. To do this, go to Amazon.com or another site that offers e-gift cards, or digital gift cards. On Amazon.com, go to Your Account > Add a Payment Method and enter the information of your Visa gift card.
- Check the box that says "This is a gift card" and click Add your card.
- Repeat this process for every gift card that you have and want to turn into an e-gift card.
- When you're done, finalize the purchase.
