First up, Acknowledge: Take a deep breath and acknowledge the question with a nod or a simple “That’s a great point,” or, “We often get asked that question”. This shows you’re actively listening and ready to engage, even if the question catches you off guard.

Next, it’s time to Bridge: Politely steer the conversation back to familiar territory by connecting the question to your key message or topic with a magic phrase like “That’s related to [topic], and what’s important to remember is…” or “While that’s an interesting angle, let’s also consider…”

Finally, Communicate: Use this opportunity to return back to your Message Matrix effectively, even if it’s not directly answering the question asked. Remember, it’s not about dodging the question, but rather guiding the conversation back to your main points.
