I have three favorite ways I’ll cover in this post to show you how to make money with a podcast, even if you have no audience, a small audience, and you don’t have that many downloads. No matter where you are on your podcasting journey, this can work for you!
What is monetizing your podcast?
Monetizing your podcast simply means that you can market through your podcast. You have complete control over your marketing and it should feel authentic and organic for you. You don’t want to feel as though you are forcing your product or service on someone who isn’t actually shopping for it. That is why social media is not part of these monetizing strategies. You don’t need to market on social media if you don’t want to.
I want the leads to come to you! I want them to go straight to your checkout page from the podcast because they want what you have to offer. That is simple sales and that is possible for you.
How do you sell through your podcast episodes? It all comes down to what you are marketing.
Top 3 ways to make money with your podcast
1. Coach
- This is the number one way to monetize if you are under 250 superfans.

You can call it whatever you want, mentoring, strategy sessions, or teaching. Whatever you call it, coaching is you sitting down on a virtual Zoom call with one of your listeners helping them through a problem.
While your audience and download numbers are low, you still have the bandwidth to exchange time for money, and working with clients is going to be the most incredible breakthrough you have ever had on what your avatar actually needs.
Think strategically about how you get in front of someone to help them through the problem they have. Once you have proven your solution with five to ten people, you then have what you need to go to the next step in monetization.
2. E-Course
- These are 100% passive-income sales!
- They are recorded so your followers can take them on their own time.
- Courses are more affordable than sitting down with you one on one.
- This allows you to teach 1:many without taking more of your time.
- It is easy and evergreen.

3. Live Program

- Do not create this until you have at least a six-figure business from your course.
- Don’t saturate your audience and confuse everyone.
- This is a 2-5 year business plan.
