Manual bank transfers are one of the most affordable ways to buy crypto. This guide will walk you through the process step-by-step. If you're new to crypto, this article is for you!
1️⃣ Set up your bank transfer
Start by selecting the amount you want to spend or the volume of crypto you want to buy on the Ramp app. Choose the bank transfer option as your payment method.
2️⃣ Open your banking app
Once you initiate the bank transfer process, open your banking app to transfer funds from your account to Ramp for your purchase order.
3️⃣ Enter Ramp's banking info
Copy and paste Ramp's IBAN, SWIFT code, and organization name into your banking app. You can find this information on your transaction status page on the final screen of the Ramp widget and in a confirmation email.
4️⃣ Double-check everything is correct
Ensure all information is correct, including the unique transaction reference, purchase amount, and your full legal name. The unique transaction reference is crucial for matching your transaction to the purchase amount.

After completing your purchase, look out for an email from us confirming that we've received your payment.
How long does a manual bank transfer take?

My transaction has expired. What should I do?
❌ If your transaction has expired, contact Ramp support once the bank hands over your funds, and we will manually process it.
The transaction status says it’s released, but I don’t see the crypto in my wallet. What should I do?
✅ If your transaction receipts say that crypto has been released but hasn't appeared in your wallet, contact your wallet provider’s support for further assistance.
What happens if I use the wrong reference number or no reference for my transfer?
❗ Entering a different reference number or purchase amount can make it difficult for our system to match your transaction. This usually results in a refund if the purchase amount doesn't match the payment.
💶 For EUR (€) manual bank transfers, incorrect reference means we won't receive the funds. The refund will be processed automatically. You should receive your funds back within 3-10 business days. If you don't receive the refund within that time, please contact your bank for further assistance.
💷 For GBP (£) transfers, if the reference is incorrect, contact Ramp support with a payment confirmation so we can locate your transfer and proceed with a refund (you might be able to download this PDF directly from your bank's website or app. We can't accept screenshots as valid payment confirmations).
