To remove an authorized user from a Chase credit card, call the phone number on the back of your card or send a message through Chase’s Secure Message Center in your online account if you are the primary accountholder. Authorized users only have the option to call to remove themselves from a Chase credit card account.
- Call the phone number on the back of your card to reach Chase credit card support.
- Provide the last four digits of your credit card number and the 3-digit security code.
- Specify which authorized user needs to be removed from which account.
Primary cardholders can also remove an authorized user at any time through the Chase website or mobile app. To do so, log into your account and select “Secure Messages” from the main menu. Then, select “New Message” in the Secure Message Center. From the drop down menu, select “I have a question about one of my accounts,” choose your account, and then select “account inquiry.” Click the “Send us a message“ link and specify which authorized user you’d like to remove.
If the authorized user continues to show on the account after a couple of months, the primary cardholder or the authorized user can call Chase credit card support to verify removal. Authorized users may also monitor their credit reports to make sure the account stops being reported.
