The Application Virtualization Server Management Console lets you enable or disable Windows authentication, which lets you to define who has access to the system. You can use the following procedures to set up and disable authentication from the Provider Policies Results pane of the console.
NoteNormally, you set up authentication when you add a provider policy through the New Provider Policy Wizard.
You disable user authentication by running the configuration script in the same way as you ran it to enable user authentication. In other words, if authentication is enabled and you include --config-auth , then the script disables authentication.
Disabling Basic authentication forces all client access requests to use modern authentication. For more information about modern authentication, see Using modern authentication with Office clients.
Authentication enables organizations to keep their networks secure by permitting only authenticated users or processes access to protected resources. This can include personal computers, wireless networks, wireless access points, databases, websites, and other network-based applications and services.
Click “Add filters” and choose Client apps. You should see a “Client Apps: None Selected” header at the top.Click on that and then put a checkmark next to all “Legacy authentication clients”. It should then show all logins using basic auth.
As well as basic authentication, there are other ways to implement authentication such as bearer authentication, form-based authentication, API keys and OAuth.
Tap Settings in the upper right corner of the screen. Tap Accounts at the bottom of the screen. Locate the desired authenticator account, and then slide it to the left. Tap the Delete button that appears on the right to delete the 2FA token.
Passwords are the most common methods of authentication. Passwords can be in the form of a string of letters, numbers, or special characters. To protect yourself you need to create strong passwords that include a combination of all possible options.
Windows Authentication is more secure as it relies on Windows to authenticate users, while SQL Server Authentication stores credentials locally. It's recommended to use Windows Authentication when possible.
