This video will demonstrate the troubleshooting procedure of Wi-Fi for the Windows 11.
If you're having trouble connecting to the Internet, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve wireless network connection issues on your Dell PC.
Let's go through some basic checks first. In the taskbar, click on the "Internet" icon to check the status of the Wi-Fi and make sure it's turned on.
Check to be sure that the "Airplane mode" is off. Now check the other Wi-Fi networks and select the one in which you have the most trust. If it is already connected, disconnect it, wait a moment, and then reconnect to it, and try to access the Internet.
You can also try moving your system closer to your router or access point to see if this helps with the signal. Reset the network settings to see if this does the trick.
Click on the "Start" menu and go into "Settings". Click on "Network & Internet" and then on "Advanced network settings". Select "Network reset", and then click on the "Reset now" button.
Click "Yes" to confirm, and after a restart of your system, test your Wi-Fi connection. Use the system troubleshooters provided by Windows to help resolve the issue.
Back in "Settings" with "System" selected, click on the "Troubleshoot" option. Click on "Other troubleshooters", and for "Internet Connections", click the "Run" button.
Follow the onscreen instructions as Windows will guide you through this process. Afterwards, scroll down through the "Other troubleshooters" section and click the "Run" button for "Network Adapter".
Follow the instructions from Windows, and once both of these troubleshooters are finished, try your Internet connection. At this point, let's experiment with the modem and the router.
Restart your Wi-Fi router by shutting it off and removing the router power cord. Wait 10 seconds, then reinsert the power cord and turn the router back on. After all the indicator lights come back on completely, try getting online.
If you have an Ethernet cable, connect it directly to your network instead of using a Wi-Fi connection. If this doesn't get you online, chances are your modem or router is the problem.
Share your cellular network from another device and use it to try connecting your computer to the Internet. If you can get online this way successfully, then more than likely the issue lies with the modem or router.
Believe it or not, an outdated driver can be the cause of your connection issues. If you don't have an Ethernet cable for direct network connection, then for this part, you will need a different system to get the latest driver download from the Dell Support site, then transfer the file and do the install.
To get the proper driver needed, go into the "Device Manager", expand "Network adapters", and make a note of which Wi-Fi adapter your PC has.
Now go to dell.com/support, using another device to access the Internet if necessary, and enter the "Service Tag" of the PC with the Internet connection issue as the product being identified.
This is very important to ensure you get the right driver to match the correct PC. Select "Drivers & Downloads", expand "Find drivers", verify the operating system of the PC in need, then, in the "Category" field, select "Network".
Locate the same wireless driver that you made a note of earlier, and download it. If you used a different system for the download, transfer the file to the other system.
Install the download on the PC having the Internet issues, and restart your system if requested. Afterwards, test your Wi-Fi connection. If you haven't had any luck yet, it's time to utilize the "Windows Terminal Admin".
Right-click on the "Start" menu and select "Terminal (Admin)", and click "Yes" to allow. This will open the "Windows PowerShell" command prompt.
Enter the following five commands in the same exact order as demonstrated here, typing each one as shown, honoring all the spaces. Hit "Enter" after each. With all five entered in order, type "Exit", and hit "Enter".
