You can have two Venmo accounts using different bank accounts or even the same bank account. Having two Venmo accounts is a great feature if you share a joint bank account with your partner or family member.

Linking bank accounts to Venmo is generally safe, but not without risks. You should implement extra security measures when linking bank accounts or credit cards to Venmo, such as setting up multi-factor authentication on both your Venmo app and your online bank accounts.
If you've entered the wrong account information, a couple of things could happen: Your bank will not be able to find your account and your bank transfer will fail. The money may be returned to us after a few days and put back into your Venmo account, but we cannot guarantee that will happen.
Once you've added your bank account and verified it, you can use the Venmo app to send the money in your Venmo account to that bank, using the Standard or Instant method. Start by going to the Me tab, then tap the Add or Transfer button under Wallet (some users may see a Manage button instead).
You can only create one account per individual, as outlined in our User Agreement. When you sign in, a code may be sent to the phone number registered with your Venmo account. Enter this code when prompted to verify your ownership of the account.
To close your Venmo account, sign in and go to your account settings from a computer browser, then click Close my Venmo account at the bottom of the page. You can also close your Venmo account in the app by following these steps: Go to the Me tab by tapping your picture or initials.
In the app, you can use the drop-down at the top of the Me tab to toggle between your personal and business profiles. You'll use your personal profile's credentials to log in to and access either profile. Please keep in mind you'll only be able to create one business profile.
How long do bank transfers take? Bank transfers tend to process in 1 to 3 business days. A few different factors, like weekends and holidays, can sometimes slow things down.
If you have any transactions that are processing, you won't be able to close your Venmo account. Wait until all transactions (including the transfer of your funds back to your bank) have cleared and are listed as complete.
