Special missions in Lost Ark are immensely valuable to endgame players who either don't want to or can't complete their daily dungeon raids for the day. Of course, completing these missions will take a bit of energy expenditure, but it is a worthwhile cost to pay, given how much time it can save for other activities. But how are special missions unlocked? And are there any other prerequisites to unlocking it?
With Lost Ark being a fantasy MMO focused on keeping gamer retention, performing dailies and resource collection repeatedly for days can become a chore. Thus, it is in the player's best interest to get used to the dispatch mission feature. Unlocked when the player first obtains a stronghold in Lost Ark, dispatch missions need onlyan extra ship and a competent crew to go out and collect resources on the player's behalf.

However, the default stronghold doesn't come with special missions, as those subsets of missions can only become available by leveling up the stronghold, the player character, and completing a few quests toward the end of the main game. But to keep things brief, the player needs to reach the endgame by reaching level 50, upgrading the stronghold, and triggering a certain quest.
Before the player even thinks of doing special missions, players need to gain access to astronghold in Lost Ark. This is done when the player advances through the main storyline and completes the quest called "Eadalin's Gift."This stronghold comes with a dispatch station that players can use to send ships out on missions for a certain amount of real-world time.
Assuming the player has a ship and crew available, normal missions should be immediately available for potential deployment. But special missions are a different matter as they are only meant for endgame content and will have the player part with chaos aura and harvest souls if they want to send one out.
But the special missions themselves are not immediately available in Lost Ark. Instead, players need to upgrade the stronghold to at least level 2 and reach level 50 on their character. It is around that time players should head over to an NPC named Vern, help out around a city, and unlock some roster missions. Those roster missions, in turn, will allow the player to discover their first Chaos Dungeon, where players can farm Harmony Shards in Lost Ark.
Head back to the stronghold and head over to the main mansion, and try to trigger a quest that will lead to the docks. At the docks, an NPC called Adventurer Edwin complains about not how no one wants him in their raid party. Choose a few dialogue options, and the quest "Legendary Monster Slayer" will trigger, which will act as a special mission tutorial for the player. Complete that quest, and that's it. Special missions unlocked.
