Lost Ark's Life Skills consist of the typical gathering activities of an MMORPG, including Mining, Fishing, Logging, Foraging, Hunting, and Excavating, a unique skill centered around finding Relics. Players will use their Life Skills to collect various materials for crafting and building or upgrading structures within their Stronghold. The Stronghold is anestablishment offered by theLost Arkdevsthat serve as a player's home and hub area for all crafting systems. It is the central location for performing research and completing daily activities. Therefore, to enhance and expand one's Stronghold, a player must have access to all their Life Skills.
To unlock a specific Life Skill,Lost Arkfans must complete the particular quest associated with the skill. Additionally, to use a Life Skill, players will need Life Energy and the tool used to perform the Life Skill. Life Energy is a finite resource that grants players 10,000 points for use, recharging 4,000 Energy daily. Keep in mind that the rank of one's Life Skills is shared across a player's account, including Life Energy consumption, meaning players cannot use their alt characters for additional farming.

The first Life Skill thatWestern players inLost Arkcan use is Mining, an ability unlocked in Lakebar Village once players complete a quest for Thirain. Once players activate the objective, they can learn how Mining works from the Trade Skills Guildmate. After purchasing a pickaxe from the local vendor,Lost Arkfans can find ore nodes on the map displayed as blue lumps of rock. Using the "G" key will allow the materials to be gathered.
How Life Skills Work In Lost Ark
The next Life Skill players will unlock is Fishing, which can be performed at certain marked fishing spots across the map. Players will receive this skill once they've completed the Guide Quest requiring them to gather food for a banquet. Fans must use "B" to switch their Mining Life Skill to Fishing. When near a fishing spot, use the "E" key to begin fishing and press "E" again to reel in a catch. Players will receive aspecial confirmation inLost Arkwhen they've caught a fish.
Later on, Thirain will task the player with helping the people of Freyad Village by Foraging for food. The Life Skill's quest marker will lead to an NPC named Awella, who will show how Foraging works. Like Mining, gatherable plant nodes are displayed as icons on the map. Afterward, players will learn Hunting and Logging once they've entered the Bilbrin Forest. After reaching the Helmon Castle Ruins, players will unlock the final Life Skill, Excavating, during the quest "To the Battlebound Plains." Remember to press "B" to switch between combat and Life Skills mode.
