Can Apple Pay be brought to India
It is only available in Samsung but it would be good in India if it works on Apple phone as well.

You cannot.
Apple Pay is not supported in India, as such the Wallet App can only be used for passes and tickets. Credit and debit cards cannot be added.

I think apple should at least allow prepaid cards with Apple Pay India, as they do not require that much of permissions and becomes a win win situation for government and apple users.

No, current banking regulations in India prevent Apple Pay from operating and offering the privacy and security it’s known for. Samsung pay is fundamentally different than Apple Pay and doesn’t offer the same features and benefits.

Apple Pay requires biometrics. Currently, biometrics is not accepted for authentication in India. Yes, other lesser secure methods of authentication is possible. Is that what best serves Apple users in India, a less secure method of contactless payment than other countries?

If that is true… apple could not provide security to wallets?
if Samsung can do it why can’t apple justify by showing security…
We are thinking apple is good at security… is it wrong?

At least they should have a wallet service like the paytm in the past, else this feature is of no use in india.
what i am looking at apple is lagging all the advanced features , thats why its secure , its like you sell your keypad phone and say its secure in data privacy

They don’t use FaceID like Apple does. The Samsung and Google Pay tokens use card emulation and Apple Pay uses dynamic tokens. The technology has to be approved by the government and banking system. There are also issues with storage of data that need approval.

India requires use of PIN, which Google uses. Apple Wallet requires biometrics, which experts state is more secure PIN. There are other issues as well regarding encryption and storage of user’s personal information.

Apple Wallet can hold loyalty cards and other information. Apple Wallet can also be deleted from iPhones.

Apple Wallet and Apple Pay security and privacy requirements are higher than the electronic wallets currently being offered in India.
