I often hear both the following expression.
"How was work going?"
"How was your work going?"
Are they the same in meaning?
India - Hindi & English
Yes, K.Z is correct. "How is work going" or "hows work going?" is in present tense. "How was work going" or How was your working going on?" refers to a particular time, when asked to a person.
Hello everybody
Peter had a terrible day at work. He had an argument with his boss and he had a lot of paperwork to do. When he got home , he seemed exhausted.
His wife said:
How was work today?
How was your work today?
Which one is idiomatic and colloquial in English?
Thank you.

Keramus, "how was work today?" is idiomatic and colloquial. To me, "your work" implies a specific project, whereas "work" implies employment more generally. "How is your work coming?" could be used if you want to ask how a certain assignment or project is going, and sounds more like something that a manager would ask a lower-ranking employee than what a wife would ask her husband.
