The festival kicks off with the dystopian drama, The Blue Trail, which has already made waves internationally. But here's where it gets controversial... some films will have their gala premieres at IFFI, which means the star-studded casts will be in attendance!
One such film is Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, a sequel to the beloved Netflix film, Raat Akeli Hai. This time, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte are joined by an impressive ensemble cast. Anupam Kher and Dolly Ahluwalia's film, Calorie, will have its premiere at IFFI on November 23rd, before its release in Canada on November 28th.
And for the lovers of classic cinema, two cult films will have their gala premieres. Sholay, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will be screened on November 26th, while 1942: A Love Story will have its show on November 21st. The restored version of Sholay will be a treat for fans, with its first-ever screening in India taking place at the Inox Panjim, which boasts one of the largest screens in the country.
Hollywood Classic:
Quentin Tarantino's iconic Pulp Fiction (1994) will also be screened at IFFI, adding a touch of Hollywood glamour to the festival.
