To view items quarantined by Windows Defender, click theTools icon and select Quarantined items.Highlight an item to see detailed information about it.
Removing quarantined items
In most cases, Windows Defender will quarantine only harmfulfiles. Quarantined files no longer pose a threat to your computer, andyou can safely remove them:
- Check the box next to each item you want to remove.
- Click Remove.
Note: To remove all quarantined items, clickRemove All.
Restoring quarantined items
Occasionally, Windows Defender may quarantine a legitimate piece ofsoftware; this is called a false positive. If you're certain it'sharmless, you can restore a false positive to its proper place on yourcomputer:
- Check the box next to each item you want to restore.
- Click Restore.
