Does taking assessments on indeed help? ›

Indeed assessments are beneficial for both employers and job seekers. The score ratings for skills tests can help a hiring team find a particular type of candidate faster. On the other hand, the score ratings can help a job seeker get in front of certain recruiters.

Do Employers Look at Indeed Assessments? Indeed assessment results help employers filter applicants for interviews (similar to the hiring process at Amazon). Some employers compare test results to those of high-performing employees at the company, while others just require a minimum passing score.

The “completed” score is the lowest, meaning you failed the assessment. The next score, “familiar”, means you show some understanding but are still not proficient in the skills. To show you are skillful and competent in the evaluated skill, you should only display a “proficient” score.

After you sign in, click the profile icon in the top-right, and choose Resume or Profile. Scroll down to the very bottom to where it says Assessments. You can proactively take these tests on your own, or potential employers may invite you to complete one after you've applied.

Indeed Assessments score levels are: Expert, Highly proficient, Proficient, Familiar and Completed. A score of N/A will be given when a candidate has started but not completed an assessment yet. Skills test scores can be a great indicator of a candidate's ability to perform a certain job.

Important: You're only allowed to retake each assessment one time every six months. Sign in to your account. Go to the assessment reset tool. Choose an assessment you've taken in the past six months.

As far in advance as you can, start practicing by completing typing tests at home until you get your word count and accuracy to the desired level. Additionally, if you know the type of test you're taking, you may be able to find example questions online.

Proficient typically describes people, and it often is followed by the preposition at. If you are proficient at something, you are very good at it. You are, in fact, so good at doing it that you are unusually efficient when you do it. One can also be proficient in something, such as a language.

As a security precaution, we do not allow anyone (including employers) to see answers to any of our assessments. Scores on assessments sent directly to you by an employer can only be seen by that employer and anyone they choose to share your scores with.

What “not selected by employer" means on Indeed. Let's start by ripping off the band-aid: If you got the message “not selected by employer” on Indeed, then yes, your application was rejected. This doesn't mean that you can't reapply, but you should treat it like any other rejection.
