Prayer is one of the hardest combat skills to train, especially for ironmen, as it is resource-intensive and almost incapable of producing anything. However, it is crucial for high-level PvM.
Training methods[edit | edit source]
- Levels 1-9 - The Restless Ghost.
- Levels 9-40 - The Nexus. You can gain XP quicker solo by clicking again on the bowl as soon as the XP drops appear.
- Levels 40-75 - Infernal ashes from Wilderness Flash Events (sack of wild rewards commonly drop 30-50 of those)
- Levels 75-99 - A combination of vyres, dragon bones (from Vindicta), airut bones (from Liberation of Mazcab), Hefin cleansing crystals and Hefin Agility Course during Hefin Voice of Seren.
- Bones can be used on the altar in the Chaos Temple if the player does not have 75 Construction (boostable) for a Gilded altar.
- The Ectofuntus awards the most experience per bone, and parts of the First age outfit can be bought with Ecto-tokens.
- Powder of burials can be used to consume bones at a faster rate than altars (4700 vs 1600 per hour) with the same multiplier as the chaos or gilded altars, but lacking any secondary benefits (such as saving bones.) It also requires 90 Hunter (boostable) and 90 Farming (boostable) to create.
- Chapel in Fort Forinthry, Tier 1-3 provide a multiplier of 250%-350% experience in Prayer when offering ashes or bones at the altar, there is a bank chest inside the building. Lighting the burners offers a 3-10% chance to save bones.
Other Methods:
- Levels 21-99 - Purchase the Bonecrusher from Daemonheim Rewards for 34,000 Dungeoneering tokens, which allows you to passively level prayer on bones that you would not otherwise pick up. You can also pair it with Twisted bird skull necklace or higher versions from the same vendor, allowing for any kill that would drop bones to provide XP and restore prayer points instead. You're also able to upgrade or turn the Bonecrusher into a toolbelt item via Slayer points to give you the ultimate prayer regen/xp setup.
Repeatable events[edit | edit source]
Repeatable events can only be done a set amount in a set time period. They should be done alongside unlimited methods above. Prayer, as a harder skill, benefits more from these.
- Lost Souls of the Wilderness Flash Events (occurs once every 14 hours; generous amounts of easy xp and should be prioritised)
- Nemi Forest (daily)
- God Statues (monthly)
