I really like to shut-down my MacBook at night, and I recently got an iPhone, so I've been shutting it down at night also.
I understand that it's okay to leave them on, but I *want* to turn them off.
So my question is, is it okay to shut the phone down every night?
iPhone SE, iOS 15

you can do whatever you like..
but you should note that if you have your iPhone set up to do automatic updates, or back your iPhone up to iCloud, the best opportunity for your phone to do this is while plugged into power and connected to WiFi overnight.
also if I recall correctly, if you set an alarm for the morning it will not power on the phone to alert you.

It is simply NOT necessary to shut your iPhone down at night. In fact, it is advisable to leave your phone on, plugged in to charge, connected to Wifi, so your phone can backup nightly. Make sure Optimized Battery Charging is turned on and leave it plugged in all night, EVERY night. This will help maintain your battery for optimal performance AND make sure you have a full charge to start your day.

Don’t underestimate the value of an iPhone’s every-night automated backup to iCloud.
if you loose or damage your phone; the ability to purchase a new device and have it automatically configure itself and replicate your lost/damaged phone … complete w/ apps and data, right down to the arrangement of the screen icons … is HUGE and not something which should be dismissed lightly.

Yes, it's fine
If you have automatic backup turned on, it won't work.
You will have to manually update.
