Keep a notepad with you when you go to yard sales and write down what you paid for the items, the date/address. At the end of the year, you can offset your gross sales by deducting COGS (cost of goods sold), postage, shipping, supplies, mileage, etc.
What I do at the beginning of each new month, is go to my Seller Hub > Orders > Paid & shipped > previous month and print out that information. I place into a 3-ring binder, and at the of the year, I have my total gross sales information for my tax preparer.
