Tips for the Best Maple Candied Bacon Ever

Not only do you want the most delicious bacon, you also want to make sure you're eating the healthiest! Here are some tips to ensure you accomplish both:

  • Choose bacon that is organic when possible. Organic bacon means no chemical additives or GMO ingredients were used during processing.
  • Look for bacon that is labeled center cut. This bacon comes from the leaner and more meaty section of the pork belly.
  • Standard bacon slices are usually cut to 1/16 of an inch. That is a great thickness for this Maple Bacon recipe.
  • Once you have realized that this low carb candied bacon won't last long, make a double batch! It will keep perfectly well in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days.
  • Quality sweeteners are essential. The candied part in this maple bacon recipe comes from a combination of sugar free maple syrup and Brown Monk fruit/Allulose. The brown sweetener blend is absolutely delicious, tastes and feels just like real brown sugar and doesn't have the same cooling effect as many other Keto sweeteners. The sugar-free maple syrup that I use is hands down the best I have tried. It taste just like traditional maple syrup!
