Kieran is the main antagonist of a pokemon fanfic, Pokémon Maroon and it's 2nd DLC arc, The Indigo Disk Incident.

He is a pokemon trainer who appears to be a shy and innocent teenager, only to be a facade as he is shown to be a manipulative mastermind who became jealous of Florian after the events of the Teal Mask Case, he is the main reason why Terapagos was killed due to an incident that he created in order to use it's energy to create the ultimate weapon to brainwash everyone and have them under his control.

He is Florian's archenemy.

Teal Mask Case Arc[]

During the events of the Teal Mask Case arc, He first appears as a shy trainer, always hiding behind his sister Carmine back, upon meeting Florian. After their first battle, he became optimistic to beat Florian at the festival however he suddenly became very jealous towards Florian and wanted to "become" him.

After Florian and Carmine discovered the truth about the Loyal Three's true villainy and Ogerpon being a outcast, he became envious and grew more jealous of Florian and Carmine and tried to sabotage their case by stealing the Teal Mask. After their fourth battle, he breakdowns and punches the stone fence, he apologizes and gives back the mask and runs away.

After Florian defeated the Loyal Three and took back the masks, Poltchageist breaks free from the cave where Ogerpon lived and attempted to destory Kitakami, Kieran became an ally to help the gang and all together stopped the Poltchageist. When Ogerpon's Case was clear and set to go back home yet wanted to go with Florian, Kieran became shunned and says he wants Ogerpon to go with him. Kieran forces Florian to battle him as whoever wins, gets to keep Ogerpon to which Florian wins. As Kieran runs away after his loss, later in the post credits ending, He became more obsessed and growing his hatred towards Florian, this leads to Kieran becoming the main antagonist in the second movie.

The Indigo Disk Incident[]

Before the events of the story, he creates a machine that would cause the blackout and the death of Terapagos that gave energy to the Indigo City, Kieran used its energy to create the "ultimate AI" that would take over all of Indigo City and later Paldea, however he needed more energy so he used some of it to brainwash all of the citzens and kept them under his control, trapping them in a fate worse than death.

Before using some of the energy, he assisted with Briar, a mentally obsessed businesswoman who used to work with Sada and Turo and wanted to use Terapagos energy for own greed and to use them with the Paradox Pokemons for own usage of sadism, she and Kieran worked together and had major members of the Blueberry Academy and the Indigo Disk, brutally tortured and then brainwashed them in order to silence them from ever telling the truth, since then both Kieran and Briar had control over the Blueberry Academy and The Indigo City and brainwashed all of the citzens to silence them from ever revealing the truth about their obsession.

After Florian was invited to join Blueberry Academy as a Exchange student, he noticed something different about the citizens, especially Director Cyrano having memory loss. However, he kept his guard down and secretly continued his investigation about Terapagos, eventually having his pals; Nenoma, Arven and Penny to help him investigate further about the incident while completing the basic missions.

Eventually reuniting with Carmine who is now concerned about Kieran, as he is now the "Champion of Blueberry Academy", although Florian is concerned about all the citzens, eventually he noticed Kieran being controlling towards a member of the League Club, having the helpless boy removed the club and also kicked from any other clubs, knowing Florian will join the club soon, thanks to hearing his and Carmine voice from afar, enforces Drayton to have him join the club.

Eventually Florian heads to the League Club with Carmine behind him to meet Drayton, and later meets the Elite Four; Lacey, Crisp and Amarys at the cafeteria, as they introduced each other, Florian asks them about the incident that happened in Blueberry Academy, to which they didn't replied, leaving him to getting suspicious about them but then is told about the Champion who is revealed to be Kieran.

After joining the BB league, defeating the Elite Four, Florian noticed something wrong about them and tries to investigate before encountering Kieran who is appalled by his journey yet wants to defeat him to finally succumb his failure. Florian then asks Carmine and his crew to look for anything suspicious while he's battling Kieran. During his fight with Kieran, he sends out Ogerpon to which lead to the latter getting very angry at Florian for sending out Ogerpon now all of times, their pokemons starts attacking her instead before Florian's Meowscarada and Cinderace defeat them.

Upon their last two pokemons, Kieran is furious and starts reminding Florian of the whole Kitakami event before terastallzing his Hydrapple to do Tera Blast at Ogerpon before Meowscarada sacrifices herself to save her, this lead Ogerpon getting her full-potential once Florian terastallizes her to defeat Kieran's final pokemon, using Ivy-Cudgel, landing a critical hit on it and defeating Hydrapple.

After Florian wins the battle, Kieran starts to panic after realizing his crowd cheering for the winner instead of him, this causes Kieran to have a breakdown before using a remote to control them to be quiet, revealing that they're all brainwashed and under Kieran's control as he reveals his true colors to Florian, wanting to become him and destroy him to have the fame he wanted. Florian calls him out, saying that just became Ogerpon choose to be with him doesn't mean he has to brainwash everyone at the academy for himself, this causes Kieran to control the crowd to chase and attack him.

After running from Kieran and the brainwashed crowd, he runs to the Elite Four (Lacey, Crisp, Amarys and Drayton) and tries to warn them about the entire academy being under control, however realizing they're brainwashed too and battles them to get rid of the control but fails and almost gets brainwashed before Nenoma saves him and Arven and Penny aid him to stop the Elite Four and free from control.

Personality[]

At first, Kieran seem nice and caring towards his rival, Florian, idolizing him and wanting to beat him one day in a pokemon match, despite the connection with his sister, he did seem to care for her. While he did want to meet Ogrepon, he felt sympathy toward her when realizing her backstory.

But he became envious towards Florian and even felt betrayed when he and Carmine lied to him about the whole Ogerpon story, although it made him sympathetic however he subverted this near the end of the Teal Mask Case when Florian caught Ogerpon and he grew envious and hatred towards him, eventually resulting into his villainy.

In the Indigo Disk Incident is where he went through his breaking point; due to his envious hatred towards Florian, he planned to brainwash all of Blueberry Academy citizens and students to have them under his control to worship him.

• Kieran is the third antagonist that wanted to take over Paldea as his own, others being The AI (Paradise Protection Protocol) and The Poltchageist.
• It's been theorized that Kieran was brainwashed by Pecharunt, thus responsible for his villainy, however its been debunked in both verisons as Kieran in his original verison, was just a mentally obsessed with winning while his fanfic verison is aware of his actions.
