King Atum (2024)

After years of division and conflict, the monsters of the Rocky Peaks have decided to summon the only leader all of them trust: General Atum. However, this time, Rock Archdruid has used his blood, naturally infused with Nectar to summon him. Therefore, General Atum is now a new supreme Rocky being: King Atum!

Overview[]

Meet Pangoliath 2.0, aka King Atum. He's an absolutely insane Earth Tank with Mega Taunt and 50% Damage Mirror as a Trait. Compared to Pangoliath, he's used the same way but with better stats and skills. Instead of shields, King Atum focuses on healing; including a 0 CD 50% Heal, many other 50% Heals, and a 100% Heal. In combination with 50% Life Increase and 100% Damage Mirror, enemy attackers will be knocking themselves out before this King is dethroned. While not being an attacker, he also has an infinitely spammable 0s 0 CD 70 Earth dmg, which could catch his opponents off guard if they're a Thunder monster. To reduce his Dark vulnerability, King Atum has SC: Team Dark Protection and The Shiniest Rock to soften the blow. Double Armor Relic slots is also not half bad for a Tank like him, giving him plenty of Self Shielding and Healing options. In combination with all these defensive options, there's no wonder why TD and Pierce is META. That won't stop him from being one of the best Tank options out there though. He's also the first monster introduced into the game with the Sandstorm status effect, a DoT that suppresses the Pierce Effect from activating, creating a niche defense against SC: Pierce monsters, such as Elfeera. Overall King Atum is an incredible Mega Taunt Trait Tank replacing Pangoliath which you should definitely consider for a team slot in both PvP and especially Team Wars. In Team Wars Atum is one of, if not the scariest monster to face on defense in his restrictions.

Recommended Allies[]

Resurrectors like Uriel the Divine are great allies for him, as they keep him in the front lines even after death. Uriel also has access to NER, something that Atum doesn't have.
Evasion casters like Elvira Demonslayer can further protect him from dmg output, plus she can also NER him. Elvira in particular has extra protection with access to Hydrophobic Shield.
Healers like Forge Labs can prevent him from dying if he is unable to heal himself (possibly due to denial, no stamina, etc.)
Pairing him up with an Anticipation monster (such as Galvanus) provides an incredibly potent defense, impeding meta threats like Ahma Niah and Shadowyna, and hard-countering other ET threats such as Cherub Cupid and Dark VoltaiK.

Counters[]

Piercers like Serpentex can ignore this king's absurd Trait and kill the allies he is defending. Elfeera is exceptional, as she has the elemental advantage, just look out for Sandstorm.
Trait Disable monsters like Master Goldfield, Shadowyna, and Nereida de Danann can turn this boulder to a pebble in minutes.
Monsters with Life Removal such as Galvanus or The Frutastor can obliterate him in seconds. Just beware of his Damage Mirror Trait though.
Dark VoltaiK is a good counter, due to King Atum's double Earth element allowing him to deal much more damage (provided the King's Dark Protection is removed beforehand), and the fact that Dark Shocks deals a whopping 95 Dark dmg thanks to Atum's Mega Taunt! Be careful of his 50% Damage Mirror though, as it is INCREDIBLY risky to face against.

Trivia[]

King Atum was originally going to be even more powerful before SP decided to nerf him before he was released.
- His Trait had a 50/100% dmg mirror, which was replaced with 25/50% dmg mirror.
- His Maximum Life Increasing moves originally gave him Double Life.
King Atum's Damage Mirror Trait is bugged and gives Damage Mirror (as a Trait) to his entire team. Cold Blood users suffer from this but otherwise this has little effect, as hitting his allies requires Atum's Trait to be disabled (removing the team dmg mirror), a monster utilizing Pierce (which ignores dmg mirror), or Baby Reversion, which is extremely uncommon nowadays.
King Atum receives twice the buff from Earth Gold Boosts because he has double Earth element.
