Great Krakens[]
If at least 2 people are present within the Second Sea's Rough Waters, it will spawn a Great Kraken instead. Each person that participates in spawning a Great Kraken has a cooldown of ~15 minutes where they can't help in spawning other Great Krakens. Spawn rates and colour variant chances remain unaffected, but there are a few noticeable changes:
- Great Krakens are much larger than their normal counterparts and thus have relatively larger hurtboxes.
- All of their moves deal more damage and have larger hitboxes.
- Great Krakens are guaranteed to award a Rare Devil Fruit or higher upon kill to the player with the highest damage. This is the only change in drops between the Great and normal variants.
- A Great Kraken's health and damage will increase proportionally to how many players are around when one spawns.
Farming[]
The easiest way to Kraken farm[]
A small group (2-5 people) is recommended for Kraken farming, but not mandatory.
- Go to Desert Kingdom's tower and head south.
- Keep going until you get to the Rough Waters.
- Once you're there, wait until a Kraken spawns.
- Once the Kraken has spawned, lead it back to the tower and get it close to land.
- Once the Kraken is in position, attack it with ranged moves. (Recommended fruits for it are Goro, Magu, Pika, and Mera)
- Kill it.
- For extra rewards, players may opt to "Kraken stack", a colloquial term for spawning several Krakens at once and killing them for more drop attempts. Here is a video tutorial on how to do this.
- This method also works with Great Krakens, But you will receive damage from the Tentacle grab, even if you are not grabbed and thrown by it, you will still receive damage and may have your Light Ray cancelled.
Alternatively, you can bring a Kraken to Spirit Island and get it as close to the back side as possible and farm it there.
As of Update 9 it can still work, but you'll need to geppo high in the sky as the kraken teleports to you

Trivia[]
- It was modelled by Benere and textured by froge. Citor was also heavily credited.
- Azure Kraken items have very high value among the trade community due to how difficult they are to obtain. Azure is the rarest colour of Kraken. (Don't get confused between Azure and Blue, Azure Krakens have a darker shade on their foreheads while Blue Krakens have no dark shade and it only pure blue in its forehead, and any azure drops will be named azure).
- If you cannot tell the difference between Blue and Azure Krakens, then use ken haki. Azure krakens in ken haki have a blue glow at the top of its head, the Blue Kraken does not.
- The player needs to deal at least 1000 damage to Kraken's HP to have a chance of getting drops.
- The Kraken was beaten out by Krampus in the amount of drops it has (Kraken: 7) (Krampus: 11), reaching Elo The Bunny from the Easter Event 2021 (6 drops).
- When the Kraken spawns, you will hear a devilish laugh, causing the sky to darken and rain to pour.
- Suna's Desert Spada can hit a Kraken up to 25 times if you lure the Kraken into the corner of the hill right before the Crab Cave. Using this method with Suna can deal about 2000 damage per hit.
- Pika, Magu, Goro, and Mera Mera no Mi are considered to be the best fruits for Kraken farming due to their high damage.
- A Great Kraken's drop chances are not affected regardless how many players are nearby for one to spawn.
- Every Kraken move is a block-breaker.
- Krakens no longer drop Common fruits. It is currently unclear whether this is an intended feature.
- Krakens currently holds the rarest obtainable boss drops as of Update 4.
