Our Learning Support staff includes special education teachers, a speech and language pathologist, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, a school psychologist and 2 educational diagnosticians (K8/HS). In addition, we have 2 counselors at the K8 building and 3 counselors at the high school who also assist with student needs.

These staff members are dedicated resources for students eligible for additional learning support services as outlined in their individual education plan.

We embrace each student's individual ways of learning and are committed to supporting children in an inclusive setting with additional supports. The learning support professionals workwith students, teachers and parents to assist with the needs of the whole child.Student-centered learning plans are designed to increase student opportunity to show mastery of content through multiple strategies; as well asguide teachers' instruction and increases students' application of learning skills.

If it isdetermined that a student can benefit from academic accommodations such as extended time, enrichment, an accommodated workload, etc., the learning support teachers/staff work with teachers to implement these plans. Additionally, this team provides remedial and enrichment opportunities for allstudents. At the lower level, the learning support teachers/staff provide support inside classrooms to work with identified students. At the high school level, the team works to support students with demonstrated learning needs on a consultative basis inside and outside of the classroom.
