Levels, also known as Adventure Levels, are an important game mechanic to Prodigy Math Game. Every wizard, pet, and boss possesses a level that dictates their hearts, power, spells, and ability to evolve. Like most role-playing games, every character has a level that they can improve if they defeat enemies and win battles against friends. Specific to Prodigy Math, levels are earned with the accumulation of stars, equivalent to "experience points", "EXP", and "XP" in similar games.
The relationship between gaining levels and gaining stars is exponential, meaning that wizards must earn more stars to reach the next level than they did to reach their current level from the level immediately before. To reach the maximum level, level one hundred twenty-five, or as players call it—Level 125, they need to accumulate 28,384 stars for their wizard.

Wizard Level[]
Wizards gain the most benefits from their levels out of all entities in the game. When they level up, the levels of surrounding enemies in Firefly Forest, Shiverchill Mountains, Skywatch, Bonfire Spire, Shipwreck Shore, Lamplight Town (during Festivals), Harmony Island, and the Academy increase to make the game persistently challenging. Wizards can unlock new Equipment, spells, pet evolution stages, Conjure Cubes, the Academy and its floors, access to the Titan Grounds, the ability to use an All Out Attack, access to Harmony Island, etc. The following is an extensive table of how gaining levels can help wizards.

Pet Level[]
Like wizards, pets can be player-controlled, and they gain new abilities with every few levels. They all earn the same amount of stars to level up, and these thresholds match that of wizards.
Trivia[]
- Before the September 2018 combat update, wizards and their pets could earn stars live with each spell they successfully cast. Pets used to level up at different amounts of stars, meaning that the maximum amount of stars they had to earn varied between species.
- Further beforehand, when a wizard wins a battle, only the last entity on their side earned stars.
- Before SMARTEACHER rebranded into Prodigy Education, their teacher dashboard linked to a certificate that allowed teachers to print a student's name and their current wizard level; this helped teachers positively reinforce playing the game.
- A player can earn bonus stars after each battle for their wizard and currently equipped pets with a Prodigy Membership.
- If levels are added via unconventional means, such as developer intervention due to a bug report, non-stat bonuses will not be applied, and items will not be given that would normally be due to level progression.
