How to validate digital signature in MCA? ›

Kindly select the correct DSC to register – This error comes when the DSC, which is already associated with one user ID, is being re-associated with some other user ID. If the DSC is associated with one User ID on the MCA portal, it is not allowed to be associated with any other ID.

To upload the DSC, download and install MCA E-Signer from the link provided on the screen. Select/tick the 'Declaration' and click on the 'Submit' button. Another page will open, requesting the user to select the digital signature and enter the DSC password. Click on the 'Submit' button.

Click on the Signature Properties button to check signature properties. In the signature Properties window click Show Signers Certificate button. Following screen will be displayed once you click on it. Initially you will get the summary of the Digital Signature in the certificate viewer window.

Each digital signature has an icon identifying its verification status. Verification details are listed beneath each signature and can be viewed by expanding the signature. The Signatures panel also provides information about the time the document was signed, and trust and signer details.

If it is showing the error of " one or more signatures need validation" (At the topmost area). Then you need to validate your signature in the reader itself by clicking on the signature > Signature Properties> Show Signature Certificate> Trust> Add to trusted certificates> Tick all the options and save your file.

In the Sign with a Digital ID dialog box, choose the Digital ID you want to use for certifying the document and select Continue, or select Configure New Digital ID to create a new ID. Select Review to review the document content before signing, then select Sign.

To add a digital signature, open your Microsoft Word document and click where you'd like to add your signature line. From the Word ribbon, select the Insert tab and then click Signature Line in the Text group. A Signature Setup pop-up box appears. Enter your information in the text fields and click OK.

Verifiable digital certificates use blockchain technology and decentralized identifiers (DIDs) to securely verify the identity of a person or entity.

Using the public key that comes attached to the document or message. Anyone can use this public key to decrypt the digital signature and verify that it was indeed created by the private key associated with it. If the decrypted hash matches the original one, then the digital signature is considered valid.

The process of verification of digital signatures requires a digital signature certificate (DSC) issued by the Certifying Authority (CA) accompanied by their Certificate Revocation List (CRL) & the signer's public key.
