Do I need a bank account to use Cash App?
No, you don’t need a bank account to create a Cash App account or add money to your Cash App balance.
There are a number of ways to send and receive money through Cash App if you don’t have or want to link your bank account. You can deposit paychecks, tax returns, and more to your Cash App balance using your Cash App account and routing numbers. And you can even deposit paper money into your Cash App balance at participating retailers.
OK, how do I get a free Cash App Card?
You can order a Cash App Card directly in the app.
The Cash App Card is a free, customizable debit card that is connected to your Cash App balance. It can be used anywhere Visa is accepted, both online and in stores.
The Cash App Card isn’t connected to your personal debit card or bank account. Cashing Out transfers your funds from your Cash App balance to your debit card or bank account.
You must be 18 or older to apply for a Cash App Card. Cards should arrive within 10 business days. Your Cash App Card can be used as soon as you order it, by adding it to Apple Pay and Google Pay, or by using the card details found in the Cash App Card tab.
How does direct deposit work with Cash App?
You can deposit paychecks, tax returns, and more to your Cash App balance using your account and routing number. You can receive up to $25,000 per direct deposit, and up to $50,000 in a 24-hour period.
Cash App makes direct deposits available as soon as they are received, up to two days earlier than many banks. Your first deposit may take longer to become available depending on your employer.
