NASCAR issues penalty ahead of the race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series will take the green flag at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. On Saturday, teams rolled to the track for a round of practice and qualifying.
Before teams can hit the track for practice or qualifying they must pass NASCAR’s inspection line. One team has been penalized after inspection.
The car driven by Cody Ware failed pre-qualifying inspection two times. Per the rules, NASCAR has ejected a team engineer. They also lost pit selection.
Rick Ware Racing was able to get the car through inspection on the third attempt.

Pre-Qualifying
The following includes various levels of inspection penalties:
1 Failure
No Penalty
2 Failures
Crew member of NASCAR’s choosing ejected. Additionally, the team loses pit selection.
3 Failures
Not permitted to qualify plus above penalty. They also have to serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.
The green flag is set to drop on Sunday in Loudon, NH.
