Time is your greatest foe in Stardew Valley. With so much to do and such little time to do it, it is all too easy to lose track of time and pass out on the side of the road somewhere. We’ve all been there, and we’ve all wondered how to defeat the time crunch while still managing to complete all of our daily farming tasks.

If you’re still searching for an answer, the Obelisks might be just what you’re looking for. Obelisks allow you to fast travel, so you can spend more time fishing or working on your farm and less time making your way from A to B. In this Stardew Valley guide, we will teach you everything you need to know about Obelisks, including where to find them and how to get them.

How to Get Every Obelisk in Stardew Valley

The Obelisks are late-game items you unlock after completing the Goblin Problem quest for the Wizard, where you will retrieve some Magic Ink from his ex-wife’s hut in the Witch’s Swamp. Completing this quest will unlock the Wizard’s Shop, a small corner of the Tower that you can find just behind the Wizard himself. The corner is fitted with a purple book that you can interact with to open the shop.

There are five Obelisks to collect in total. The first four can be purchased from the Wizard, and the last one can be found on Ginger Island. Check out our guides below to find out exactly what you need for each Obelisk and how to get it!

  • Earth Obelisk
  • Water Obelisk
  • Desert Obelisk
  • Island Obelisk
  • Farm Obelisk

How to Get the Earth Obelisk

Earth Obelisk Built

The Earth Obelisk is a one-way ticket to the Mountain, and is perfect for those who need easy access to the Mines. The Mines are reasonably close to your Farm, but it still takes precious moments to get there, even on horseback. The Earth Obelisk solves that problem completely! You will need the following materials to craft the Earth Obelisk:

  • 500,000g
  • 10x Iridium Bars
  • 10x Earth Crystal

The Earth Obelisk is one of the cheapest Obelisks to make, but it still requires 10x Iridium Bars and 10x Earth Crystals. You can find Iridium in Skull Cavern and Volcano Dungeon.

You need 5x Iridium Ore and 1x Coal to create an Iridium Bar in a Furnace.

The Earth Crystals can be found in the Mines while breaking stones or defeating Duggies. If you're lucky, you can also find Earth Crystals while fishing or in Geodes.

How to Get the Water Obelisk

The Water Obelisk drops you off at the beach, so you can get plenty of fishing done by the time you have to return home before 2 am. Some fish only appear at certain times of the day, so you need to arrive at your fishing spot bright and early to make sure you have enough time to encounter them all. Here's what you need for the Water Obelisk:

  • 500,000g
  • 5x Iridium Bars
  • 10x Clams
  • 10x Coral

The Water Obelisk is one of the easiest ones to get your hands on and calls for 500,000g, 10x Iridium Bars, 10x Coral, and 10x Clams. You can find the Iridium you need for the Obelisk in Skull Cavern and the Volcano Dungeon on Ginger Island. Coral and Clams are the easiest materials to find and can be collected while foraging on the beach. You can also fish for Clams in Crab Pots.

How to Get the Desert Obelisk

Desert Obelisk Built

The Desert Obelisk is one of the handier Obelisks you can get. Without one, you have to wait until the Bus Driver arrives at 10:00 AM, then purchase a 500g ticket to the Calico Desert. The Desert Obelisk comes with a hefty price tag of its own, so it will take a while for it to pay itself off, but it could prove invaluable for those exploring Skull Cavern.

Skull Cavern is even more treacherous than the Mines, so anyone wanting to explore as much as they can would benefit from the Desert Obelisk. Here’s what you need to make one:

  • 1,000,000g
  • 20x Iridium Bars
  • 10x Coconut
  • 10x Cactus Fruit

This is the point where the Obelisks start to become much more expensive. The Desert Obelisk is double the price of the Earth and Water Obelisks and also requires double the amount of Iridium Bars. The Coconuts and Cactus Fruit can be foraged in the Desert, and the Iridium can be found in Skull Cavern, which is also located in the Desert.

How to Get the Island Obelisk

Island Obelisk Built

The Island Obelisk allows you to travel directly to Ginger Island without having to stop by Willy’s and pay for a boat ride there. Ginger Island is a huge area that is absolutely filled with things to do, see, and find. Experiencing everything Ginger Island has to offer takes many hours, so being able to get there as soon as possible is a massive help. You need the following materials to get your hands on the Island Obelisk:

  • 1,000,000g
  • 10x Iridium Bars
  • 10x Dragon Tooth
  • 10x Banana

The hardest resource to collect in terms of getting the Island Obelisk is the Dragon Teeth. There are a couple of ways to get them. You can harvest Dragon Teeth from a Fish Pond filled with Stingray or by collecting them from Dragon Skeletons in the Volcano Dungeon. Explore the Volcano Dungeon to find the Iridium you need for the Obelisk, and get the Bananas from Banana Trees that you can also get on Ginger Island. You can purchase Banana Saplings from the Island Trader for 5x Dragon Teeth.

If you’d prefer to save those from the Obelisk, you can also find Banana Saplings in Golden Coconuts!

How to Get the Farm Obelisk

Farm Obelisk Built

The Farm Obelisk transports you from Ginger Island back to your farm in Pelican Town. It’s also the only Obelisk you won’t find in the Wizard’s mysterious shop. Instead, you will purchase the Farm Obelisk from the Parrot to the left of the Ginger Island Farmhouse. To unlock the Farm Obelisk, you must first purchase the Island Farmhouse for 20x Golden Walnuts, the Mailbox for 5x Golden Walnuts, and the Beach Resort for another 20x Golden Walnuts.

The Farm Obelisk will then cost you another 20x Golden Walnuts.

This calls for 65x Golden Walnuts in total. Thankfully, there are 130 of them hidden around the Island, all of which need to be found to complete Mr. Qi's perfection tracker.
