Devil Fruits are the main source of power in the world of One Piece. All those fighting for supremacy across the seas usually rely on these mystical fruits that grant immense power to the eaters. While Devil Fruits are incredibly powerful, to begin with, they can be taken a step beyond through Devil Fruit Awakening. Devil Fruits only awaken in very rare cases, however, when the mind of the user catches up with their abilities, their fruit can be taken a level beyond.

Devil Fruit Awakenings manifest themselves in unique ways and fans have already seen quite a few of them Awaken so far. Every single Devil Fruit in One Piece can be Awakened, however, not all of them would be equally dangerous. There are some that happen to be not Awakened yet, however, would be extremely dangerous when they undergo this transformation.
6 Logia Awakenings
Fans have not seen Logia Devil Fruits Awakened just yet and there is most certainly a reason as to why that is the case. Logia is known to be the strongest class among all the Devil Fruits and it is not going to be a surprise if their Awakening is the strongest as well. Logia type of Devil Fruits allow the user to take the form of an element or a force of nature itself and manipulate it at will as well.
Devil Fruits such as the Magu Magu no Mi or the Goro Goro no Mi are known to be extremely dangerous and, when Awakened, their power can be taken a level beyond. They are already overpowered on their own, and imagining the utter destruction that they would cause when Awakened just makes one shutter at the thought.
5 Nikyi Nikyu no Mi Awakening
The Nikyu Nikyu no Mi is another Devil Fruit that has not been Awakened just yet. It belongs to Bartholomew Kuma, who is a member of the Revolutionary Army. This Devil Fruit allows Kuma to repel things at varying speeds, going up to the speed of light. It can also allow him to touch intangible things and bring them out, such as pain, or even memories.
Kuma usually requires physical touch to do these things, however, following standard Paramecia Awakenings, if this Devil Fruit is Awakened, it would allow him to do all these things without even making physical contact. That would make the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi an incredible asset in combat and one that would be feared all over the world.
4 Hobi Hobi no Mi Awakening
The Hobi Hobi no Mi is a very overpowered Devil Fruit. It was eaten by Sugar of the Donquixote Pirates and using this fruit, Sugar can turn anyone into a toy with a mere touch of her hands and, following this, she made them sign contracts with them, which they can't disobey.

Whoever she turns into a toy gets erased from the memories of everyone and they are forced to follow her orders. The Awakening of this Devil Fruit would be absolutely horrifying as Sugar would be able to turn anyone into toys without even having to touch them.
3 Gura Gura no Mi Awakening
Gura Gura no Mi is the strongest Paramecia type of Devil Fruit in One Piece and it allows its user to create quakes out of thin air. The user can tilt the ocean, destroy islands, and even set off a tsunami if they so wish.
This Devil Fruit can also be Awakened and will most likely be Awakened by Blackbeard, its current user. In its Awakening form, the user would probably be able to create quakes from anywhere, without even having to set them off with the palm of their hands or imbuing them into their weapons.
2 Mero Mero no Mi Awakening
The Mero Mero no Mi is a very powerful Devil Fruit of the Paramecia class that belongs to Boa Hanco*ck, one of the former Warlords of the Sea. Hanco*ck can petrify anyone who shows any feelings of love, lust, or affection towards her. This Devil Fruit is extremely overpowered on its own. If the Mero Mero no Mi is Awakened, it could potentially allow Hanco*ck to do even greater damage, possibly making it the most overpowered devil fruit in the story.
For Hanco*ck's ability to work, she usually has to make contact with her enemies in some way. Hanco*ck can petrify her enemies without making physical contact with techniques such as Mero Mero Mellow, however, this technique is restricted to working on only those who show positive feelings towards her. The truth is, Hanco*ck can also petrify things that do not show these emotions towards her, such as inanimate Pacifistas or even weapons. For that, however, Hanco*ck requires contact. In the Awakened state of the Mero Mero no Mi, Hanco*ck would not have to rely on contact for Petrification. This would mean that Hanco*ck would be able to turn anyone within a specific radius into stone without even doing anything.
1 Yami Yami no Mi Awakening
The Yami Yami no Mi is an incredibly powerful Logia type of Devil Fruit and, according to Blackbeard, it is the strongest ability of all. This is because this ability has superiority over others and, through physical contact, it stops them from exhibiting their powers. Essentially, the Yami Yami no Mi can nullify all Devil Fruit powers as long as the user is in contact with them. Awakening would mean that the user would not require physical contact with them at all.
This would also mean that anyone fighting Blackbeard would simply be unable to use the powers of their Devil Fruit. Undoubtedly, the Awakening of the Yami Yami no Mi, which is sure to come in the future of the story, will be extremely overpowered.
