Businesses across the world are transforming at a fast pace. In fact, the ancient saying, popularly attributed to the Greek philosopher, Heracl*tus, “The only constant is change,” is no longer a cliché in the present circ*mstances. Be it change in work practices, changes to technology, or sometimes changes in the light of global disruptions (pandemics, for instance), businesses have a constant need to reinvent themselves in order to stay relevant. In order to navigate through these changes, businesses need experienced managers, who can adapt to the ever-changing situations quite fast. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) caters to this need with its One Year Postgraduate Programme for Executives, popularly referred to as MBA-PGPX (One Year MBA). Started almost two decades ago, the programme is rated among the best in the world for career progression. Several alumni of the programme are making significant contributions as managers, CXOs, thought leaders and entrepreneurs.
We invite applications from high calibre candidates with demonstrated achievements in their professional career and wishing to transform themselves into future leaders. Candidates for this programme are selected through a rigorous selection process involving GMAT/GRE and a personal interview. Interviews are conducted across various locations in India and abroad. The average GMAT score is above 700, and the average work experience is around 6-7 years. Candidates come from a wide variety of industries in their prior work experience, including defence, oil and natural gas, energy, IT and IT services, automobiles, electronics, education, aviation, agriculture, healthcare, finance, government agencies, food processing, etc. This diversity in the class is much needed in order to strengthen peer-to-peer learning. The much needed modern skill of being interdisciplinary in their thought process becomes feasible with such diverse batch. The profile of the batch is comparable with the top business schools in the world.
IIMA is renowned globally for its rigor in academics across programmes and MBA-PGPX (One Year MBA) is no exception. Students are expected to put in significant effort towards their classes, both before and after the class. The predominant pedagogical tool at IIMA, namely the case method, also provides students avenues to apply their conceptual learnings to real life problems. The motto of IIMA – Vidya Viniyogad Vikasah (development through application of knowledge) – is a guiding force for design and delivery of the programme. Over the years, corporates have been keen to welcome the MBA-PGPX (One Year MBA) graduates into their organizations in middle to senior management roles. PGPX grads enter Rs 1-cr club
Covid-19, or not, talent always comes at premium. More so, if its Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, the premier business school of India. According to IIMA data, a student of the oneyear Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPX) was offered Rs 81 lakh salary. Sources on the campus said at least two students have entered the Rs 1-crore club if one were to include stock options (ESOPs).
IT firms lead IIM-A's one-year executive MBA final placement with 42 offers
Information Technology (IT) firms formed the largest sector in terms of job offers with 42 accepted offers in final placement process of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad's one year MBA programme.
IIMA concludes placements for PGPX batch
IIM Ahmedabad completes the final placement process for the one year, full-time, postgraduate MBA Programme for Executives (PGPX) successfully. As every year, the final placement report was audited and finalised by an external agency.
Highest salary for class of 2020 full-time PGPX at IIM Ahmedabad jumped to Rs 81 lakh per annum
The highest salary for the class of 2020 full-time post graduate programme in management for executives (PGPX) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad jumped to Rs 81 lakh per annum this year from Rs 60 lakh pa last year. The average salary for the batch that received 120 offers also went up to Rs 33 lakh pa this year from Rs 30 lakh pa. Even those students who had lost job offers due to the pandemic have been placed with comparable offers, said the placement head at the institute.
