How Long Is Only Up?
According to the game’s developer, SC-KR Games, Only Up has 40 to 120 minutes of gameplay. But on average, it takes players 4 to 5 hours to beat the game and unlock the secret cutscene.
Note that Only Up is a no-save game with no checkpoints. So, the playthrough length might vary significantly from one player to another.
Are There Any Side Quests in Only Up?
Only Up has no missions and side quests. The only premise of the game is to climb the obstacles and reach the top floor. However, its secret paths and alternative routes are comparable to side objectives in other games.
Since Only Up has only one achievement, players will only need to find the astronaut at the top to 100% it. The achievement is called “Winner!” and is given to players who successfully cross all obstacles.
Can Players Beat Only Up Faster?
By skipping specific locations using beds, trampolines, and other jump pads, players can actually beat Only Up way faster. The trick is to follow the aerial paths that are often located near or behind the main trails.
Jump pads are risky mechanics that might cause progress loss. Players should only use them if they’re sure about the landing.
What’s the Speedrun World Record for Only Up?
The current world record for Only Up speedrun is about 18 minutes. However, the bar is expected to drop as more speedrunners are attempting to beat the game.
Previously, a hidden elevator in Only Up allowed players to skip all obstacles and reach the top. But now that that has been removed, players are forced to speedrun the game using fair skips and glitches.
What Happens at the End of Only Up?
Once the boy reaches the top floor, he meets a mysterious astronaut that gives him a spaceship. In the final cutscene, the astronaut talks about how obstacles are never-ending in real life and why players should keep fighting to achieve their goals.
Only Up has no New Game Plus. After completing the main objective, the only option left for players is restarting the campaign — with no saved progression.
Only Up is available now for PC via Steam.
