How long do I leave Opalescence 15% on my teeth? ›

Available in 15% hydrogen peroxide (wear 15–20 minutes for 5–10 days)

Each packet comes with and upper and lower pre-filled bleaching tray. Product must be kept refrigerated. Before using, allow product to warm to room temperature, this will make it easier for the tray to adhere to the teeth.

Before you start the application process, you will want to brush your teeth. In addition, after using Opalescence and having removed the tray from your mouth, brushing your teeth is advised. You'll also want to wash out the tray using mild soap and water. You should use a soft bristle toothbrush.

Following the opalescence teeth whitening instructions handed down by your dentist will ensure that you achieve your teeth whitening goals safely and securely. Wearing the bleach for too long, or bleaching more often than recommended can cause irreversible damage to your teeth.

Avoid Foods and Drinks That Stain

It's most important to avoid these foods and drinks for the first 24-48 hours after treatment (that's because your teeth will continue to whiten during this time). A good rule to follow is: if a food or drink would stain your white shirt, it will also stain your teeth!

Wear the trays filled with Opalescence solution for 1 hour per day for 14 days. The trays may be worn overnight also. To maximize the effect, you may do both.

First 24 Hours: For the initial hours after whitening, avoid brushing to give your teeth time to settle. After this initial wait, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and a non-abrasive toothpaste for gentle brushing.
