Way more violent and dark than I expected, too much for young teenagers or tweens.

We didn't end up watching this whole movie with my 13 year old son because it was way more violent and dark than I'd expected, and more like a horror movie. If you're careful about what your kids watch, I wouldn't let them watch this till around age 16. Or at least watch it yourself first so that you know what it's like. Pretty surprised that it was recommended for 13 year olds, and a little disappointed as, up till now, I've found the ratings/age recommendations on CSM to be pretty reliable.

Good tween movie

Watched with my 13yo son. Good tween movie.Violence: man stabbing another twice while under dark magic, A woman slaps a man across the face before speaking, Fighting.Sex and Nudity: Opening scenes show a naked woman, but this is tasteful and nothing too much for tweens who start to see this more regularly.Gentle sexual references and inuendo which would go over the heads of more innocent ears.Swearing: Unnecessary language with single instances of b***tard, son of a *****, a**holes, sh** up, s**t, w***ker, p**s.Disturbing scenes: Plane crash, corpses awaken in morgue, zombies sucking life, rats overrunning a man, drowning.

Based on other reviews, not to bad!

This movie is without a doubt for 13 and up. Maybe 12, if your kid is immature enough. There are scary scenes and a few jump scares. The Mummy character is dressed scantily, but that's how the Egyptians dressed. There is a part in the movie where she climbs on top of Tom Cruise and kisses him. She also takes off her clothes before that. You can see her naked silhouette from the side. I have to say I was nervous even letting my 13 year olds to watch this, but it wasn't what I expected. My kids said they liked it, but did say they thought the racy parts didn't need to be in the movie.

  • Too much violence
  • Too much sex
  • Too much swearing
  • Too much drinking/drugs/smoking

Great for walking out of

Horrible, wooden acting, stilted monologue, male star approaching 'golden years' pretending to be a young man and failing, chaotic sequences....not worth the money, or the time wasted watching it
