Obligations of the insured person
One of the most important obligations of the insured person is to pay the premiums due on time. MAWISTA offers SEPA direct debit, credit card or bank transfer as payment options.
The premium for MAWISTA insurance is due for the first time at the start of the insurance contract and is payable monthly in advance. For contract terms of more than one month, subsequent premiums are due on the 1st of each new month.
The premium for the MAWISTA products Visa and Reisecare is due immediately upon conclusion of the insurance contract and is payable upon delivery of the insurance policy with the selected method of payment.
Missed payment
If a payment is missed, it can quickly happen that insurance cover is no longer valid. A valid health insurance cover is mandatory for all persons living in Germany.
If, on the other hand, the insurance company fails to collect the payment, for example due to technical problems, your insurance cover will continue to exist.
Tips
To avoid missing a payment and thus the risk of not having insurance cover, it is advisable to set up the SEPA direct debit scheme. This will automatically debit the premium due from your bank account without an end date, if set up accordingly.
If you decide not to set up a SEPA direct debit, we recommend that you regularly check your payment.
