How to Make Peanut Butter Popcorn:

  • Add Popcorn to bowl – Place the popcorn in a large mixing bowl and then set aside.
  • Heat corn syrup and sugar – Heat the light corn syrup and sugar in a small saucepan over medium high heat.
  • Bring to a boil – Stir the mixture together constantly. This ensures that the sugar does not burn and bring the mixture to a low boil. Allow the mixture to boil for approximately 2 minutes. We recommend over medium heat.
  • Stir in Peanut Butter and Vanilla – Then remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter and the vanilla extract.
  • Drizzle peanut butter sauce – Once fully combined, drizzle the sticky peanut butter mixture coating the popcorn. Gently toss the popcorn to coat it with the peanut butter coating in a large bowl.
  • Add popcorn to baking sheet – Pour the popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Allow for the mixture to cool (approximately 10-20 minutes).

Variations:

  • Add in Nuts– You can easily add in any nuts. Our favorite has been peanuts but almonds would be great as well. For that extra sweet and salty combination use salted nuts.
  • Drizzle with chocolate –We just drizzled melted chocolate over the popcorn and it was absolutely delicious! You could even experiment with all sorts of different chocolate. White chocolate would be amazing and you could even mix the two. All of the different swirls of chocolate would look so pretty as well.
  • Add chocolate chips –Try peanut butter or butterscotch! I think it would be delicious to use several different types of chocolate morsels.
  • Microwave Popcorn – We used microwave popcorn, but you can use any type of pop popcorn.
