When you’re wearing your AirPodsPro (all generations), you can press the stem to play, pause, or skip audio playing on your iPhone, iPad, AppleWatch, Mac, or AppleTV. Using the Touch control on AirPods Pro (2nd generation), you can also adjust the volume.
Play and pause audio
Wear one or both AirPods, and make sure they’re connected to your device.
Open an audio app, then play something. For example, you can play a song in AppleMusic, or listen to an audiobook in the Books app .
To pause audio while listening with both AirPods, remove one. When you return it to your ear, playback resumes automatically.
Note: You can also press the stem to pause audio. Press it again to resume playback.
Stop the audio
Remove both AirPodsPro from your ears, or if you’re wearing just one, remove it.
Skip tracks
You can double-press the stem on either of your AirPodsPro to skip to another track in many audio apps, such as the next song in Apple Music, or the previous episode in the Podcasts app .
To skip to the previous song, triple-press the stem.
Adjust the volume on AirPodsPro (2nd generation)
With Touch control, you can lightly swipe up or down on the stem to adjust the volume.
